Writing A Great Review

Most of the questions on ChefWorthy are multiple choice or ratings. When you do have an opportunity to add your own words to your review it’s important to get the most out of those opportunities. Here are some tips that will make your review truly helpful to your fellow Foodservice Professionals:

  1. Think Before You Write. Don’t write angry or impaired. Bad things happen.
  2. Visualize Your Audience. Remember: this is for other Foodservice Professionals
  3. Be Detailed. The more you can detail your experiences, the better and richer your review will be.
  4. Don’t copy and paste from other sources. We want to hear from you. Not something someone else wrote.
  5. Be Professional. Pretty obvious. Seriously.
  6. Be Fair, Honest & Accurate.
  7. Don’t Promote or Advertise. There is a time and a place for everything. This isn’t the time and place for this.
  8. Consider Transparency. Letting people know who wrote the review will make your review more compelling and believable.
  9. Review Before Submit. Measure twice. Cut once. There’s nothing worst that realizing a mistake 2 seconds after you submit.
  10. Easy on the Acronyms and Abbreviations. This is not Twitter or Viber. The occasional LOL, IMO or IRL is ok. But acronyms are like spices. Too many and it spoils things.
