Privacy Policy

Effective Date: June 10, 2026

ChefWorthy ("ChefWorthy," "we," or "us") values your privacy. We operate the website at https://www.chefworthy.pro (the "Site") and the ChefWorthy mobile apps for iOS and Android (the "App"), together with related services and products (collectively, the "Services"). ChefWorthy is a platform for commercial kitchen and foodservice professionals to identify equipment, manage their kitchens, and read and write peer reviews.

This Privacy Policy ("Policy") describes how we collect, use, and disclose information when you use the Services. By using the Services, you acknowledge that your personal information will be handled as described here. Your use of the Services, and any dispute over privacy, is subject to this Policy and our Terms of Use (or, for vendor personnel, the applicable vendor agreement), including the sections on limitations of liability and dispute resolution.

A Note on Advertising and "Selling" Your Data

We want to be clear up front:

  • We do not use third-party advertising networks, and we do not serve targeted ads in the App.
  • We do not sell your personal information to advertisers, and we do not track you across other companies' apps or websites for advertising.

We may, with controls you set, connect your profile with vendors or service providers on the platform (for example, to surface relevant equipment or introduce you to a provider you've asked about). Where we offer this, it is based on conditions you choose, not on selling your data to advertisers. If we are involved in a merger or acquisition, your information may transfer as a business asset (see "Business Transfers" below).

The Information We Collect About You

The information we collect varies based on how you interact with the Services.

Information you provide directly:

  • Account and sign-in. You can create an account using an email address and password, or by signing in with a third-party provider (currently Google, Apple, or LinkedIn). When you use a social provider, we receive your name and email address (and, for some providers, basic profile information) from that provider. We store this as part of your ChefWorthy profile.
  • Profile information. You may add details such as a profile photo, name, title/headline, company, city/state, industry, job type, department, or areas of expertise.
  • Reviews and other content. Reviews, ratings, posts, comments, and equipment notes you submit, including any photos or voice recordings attached to them.
  • Equipment and kitchen data. Equipment you scan or add, kitchens you set up (including a kitchen's location), workstation layouts, lists, and team members you invite.
  • Membership and rewards. If you subscribe, we receive your subscription status and purchase history from the app stores through our billing provider (we never receive your full payment-card number). If you redeem rewards, we collect the information needed to deliver them (such as a delivery email).
  • Requests. If you contact us, request a vendor introduction, or submit a service request, we collect the information you provide (such as your phone number, company, or title).

Information we collect automatically:

  • Usage and device data. Pages and screens you view, links and features you use, your IP address, device and browser type and operating system, app interactions, and unique identifiers assigned to your device (including push notification tokens). On the Site, we use cookies and similar technologies (see "Cookies" below).
  • Location. With your permission, the App uses your device location to find nearby restaurants during setup. A kitchen's location you save may be stored.
  • Diagnostics. Crash and performance data to keep the Services working.

Information from third parties: social networking sites you sign in with, and service providers that help us operate the Services.

Permissions the App May Request

  • Camera / Photos — to scan and photograph equipment and to set images.
  • Microphone / Speech recognition — to record and transcribe voice reviews.
  • Location (while in use) — to find nearby restaurants during setup.
  • Notifications — to send updates you've enabled.

You can change these permissions at any time in your device settings.

Automated and AI Processing

To make the Services work, we use trusted AI providers:

  • Equipment identification. When you scan equipment, the photo is sent to our AI provider (OpenAI) to identify the brand, model, and specifications.
  • Voice transcription. When you record a voice review, the audio is sent to our AI provider (OpenAI) to convert it to text. The audio is not retained after transcription — only the resulting text is kept as part of your review.

How We Use Your Information

  • To provide, maintain, and improve the Services, including AI equipment identification and voice transcription.
  • To manage your account, membership, and rewards.
  • To communicate with you, respond to inquiries, send notifications you've enabled, and provide customer support.
  • To personalize your experience and, where you've set conditions for it, to connect you with relevant vendors or service providers.
  • To understand how the Services are used (analytics), on an aggregated and individual basis, to improve them.
  • To comply with legal obligations and to detect, prevent, and respond to fraud, abuse, security issues, and violations of our Terms.

We do not use your information for third-party advertising.

How We Share Your Information

  • Other users. By default, your profile is visible to visitors. You control visibility in your settings; if you hide your name and company, visitors still see your job type, department, industry, and company size ("Demographic Profile"). See "Your Reviews" for review-specific controls.

  • Service providers (sub-processors). We share information with vendors who process it on our behalf under contract:

    Provider Purpose
    Auth0 (Okta) Authentication / sign-in
    RevenueCat Subscription management
OpenAI Equipment-photo identification and voice transcription
    Google (Places) Nearby-restaurant search
    Tremendous Reward / gift-card delivery
    Microsoft Clarity Product analytics
    Firebase Cloud Messaging Push notifications
    SendGrid Transactional email
Amazon Web Services, MongoDB Atlas Hosting and data storage
  • Companies you review or are connected with. Depending on your review's privacy settings, we may share your review and either your Profile Information or your Demographic Profile with the company whose product you reviewed, or with vendors you've chosen to connect with.

  • Business transfers. If we are acquired by or merged with another company, or substantially all of our assets are transferred (including in a bankruptcy), your information may be transferred as part of that transaction.

  • Legal and safety. To comply with law, legal process, or lawful requests; to enforce our Terms; and to protect the rights, property, or safety of ChefWorthy, our users, or others.

  • Aggregated / de-identified information. We may share information that does not identify you.

We do not sell your personal information to advertisers or share it with third-party advertising networks.

Your Reviews

When you post a review, you may mark it "Anonymous." If you do, we won't display your name, company, or title with it, but other users will still see your role, department, industry, and company size. You can change this per review at any time. Note that copies already shared with companies or cached by third parties (such as search engines) may persist even after you make a change.

Cookies and Similar Technologies

On the Site, we and our service providers use cookies and similar technologies for sign-in, to remember your preferences, for security, and for analytics. Certain cookies are required for the Site to function (for example, to keep you signed in). You can manage non-essential cookies via the Cookie Settings link in the Site footer and through your browser. We do not use advertising cookies to serve you targeted third-party ads.

Analytics

We use analytics tools (such as Microsoft Clarity) to understand how the Services are used and to improve them. This may include aggregated and individual usage data and session information. We do not use analytics for third-party advertising.

Account Deletion, Data Export, and Retention

  • Delete your account at any time in the App (Settings → Delete Account), on the web at https://www.chefworthy.pro/delete-account, or by emailing support@chefworthy.pro. What is deleted, anonymized, and retained is described on that page: we delete your account and personal data, anonymize your public contributions (reviews, posts, comments) so they're no longer linked to you, and retain records of reward redemptions where required for financial and fraud-prevention purposes, with personal information removed.
  • Export your data. You can request a copy of your data in the App or by emailing support@chefworthy.pro.
  • Retention. We keep personal information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the Services, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements.

Security

We implement reasonable safeguards to protect information from loss, misuse, and unauthorized access, including encryption in transit and at rest. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure. Protect your account by using a strong, unique password and signing out of shared devices.

Children

The Services are not directed to children under 16, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 16.

Your Privacy Rights

You may update your profile at any time, and you can opt out of marketing emails using the unsubscribe link in those emails. Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights:

  • California (CCPA/CPRA). California residents may request the categories and specific pieces of personal information we've collected, the sources, the purposes, and the categories of third parties with whom we've shared it; request access to or a copy of that information; and request deletion, subject to legal exceptions. We do not "sell" personal information, and we do not "share" it for cross-context behavioral advertising, as those terms are defined under California law. You have the right not to receive discriminatory treatment for exercising these rights. To make a request, email privacy@chefworthy.pro; we may verify your identity before responding, and you may use an authorized agent.
  • Nevada. We do not sell covered information as defined under Nevada law. You may submit a request regarding any future sales to privacy@chefworthy.pro.
  • EEA / UK and similar jurisdictions. You may have rights to access, correct, delete, port, restrict, or object to the processing of your personal information, and to withdraw consent. You may also lodge a complaint with your supervisory authority. To exercise these rights, contact privacy@chefworthy.pro.

International Users

ChefWorthy is based in the United States, and the Services are operated from the United States. If you access the Services from outside the U.S., your information will be processed in the United States, where data-protection laws may differ from those in your country. Where required, we rely on appropriate safeguards for international transfers.

Subscriptions and Billing

Memberships are sold as auto-renewing subscriptions through the Apple App Store and Google Play and managed through your app-store account. We receive subscription status and purchase history through our billing provider (RevenueCat); we do not receive your full payment-card details. See our Terms of Use for billing and cancellation terms.

Changes to this Policy

We may update this Policy from time to time. We will post changes here and update the Effective Date above. If changes materially affect how we handle personal information we previously collected, we will provide notice (for example, by posting on the Services or emailing registered users).
